February 11, 2026 – Decatur Public Schools will host a Family Empowerment Night on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, at MacArthur High School, offering families an opportunity to connect with district leaders, learn about available resources, and earn summer vouchers.
The event begins at 5 p.m. and is designed to provide parents and guardians with information to support student success while encouraging family engagement with district programs and services.
According to DPS, families who attend event sessions can earn $50 in DPS summer vouchers per session, with a maximum of $200 per family. Registration is required to participate.
Multiple sessions will be offered throughout the evening. A District Discussion, hosted by the superintendent and a board member, will focus on district updates and upcoming initiatives. The Supporting Student Success session, led by the Teaching and Learning Department, will highlight academic tools and strategies to help students stay on track during the school year.
Families may also attend a Navigating District Resources session hosted by the Student Services Department, covering mental health and counseling services, attendance supports, and other family resources. A Career Readiness Opportunities session, presented by Innovative Programs staff, will provide an overview of career-focused options available to high school students, including CTE programs, co-ops, internships, industry certifications, the PCEP Academy, agricultural programs, and the Civic Leadership Institute.
