February 15, 2026 – University of Illinois Extension will host a half-day gardening education event later this month aimed at gardeners of all experience levels.
The event, titled Gardening Insights, will take place from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 28 at Life Foursquare Church, located at 2954 W. Ash Ave. in Decatur. Registration opens at 7:45 a.m., with programming scheduled to begin at 8:15 a.m.
Organized by the Macon County Master Gardeners, the event will feature a mix of educational sessions and hands-on workshops focused on gardening topics relevant to the upcoming growing season.
Participants will be able to select three sessions from a total of 12 offerings led by horticulturists and Master Gardener volunteers. Topics include pollinators, tree care, soil health, hummingbirds, growing ginger, and the history of gardening.
In addition to the educational sessions, three workshops will be offered covering the use of artificial intelligence for garden design, winter seed sowing, and floral arrangements.
A $20 registration fee is required to attend. Light refreshments will be available between sessions. Advance registration is requested by Feb. 22 and can be completed online.
