February 19, 2026 – March marks Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, and Macon Resources Inc. (MRI) is inviting the community to participate in its annual “Paint the Town Orange” campaign.
During the week of March 9–13, MRI will partner with local businesses and community groups to highlight the inclusion, contributions and potential of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Participation in the initiative is free. Businesses and organizations can register online and pick up a “Paint the Town Orange” kit from MRI’s main campus between March 4–6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each kit includes an orange paper chain, display signage and 10 orange lapel ribbons for staff members.
Participants are encouraged to decorate their spaces in orange throughout the week and share photos on social media, tagging MRI on Facebook.
Additional information is available at www.MaconResources.org, or on MRI’s Facebook page.
Organizers say the goal of the campaign is to turn awareness into action and promote inclusion throughout the community.
