February 26, 2026 – Decatur Memorial Hospital, part of Memorial Health, in partnership with Memorial Specialty Care Cardiology, hosted a special open house to highlight how their leading cardiac team and updated catheritazation labs are providing advances in cardiac care in the region.

The event featured a tour the hospital’s updated cardiac catheterization laboratories and hands-on demonstrations of the latest technology used to diagnose and treat heart conditions.

The updated catheterization lab supports a range of procedures, including diagnostic heart catheterization, balloon angioplasty, stenting and rotational atherectomy.

Memorial Specialty Care Cardiology offers both inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular services delivered by a team of general, interventional and electrophysiology cardiologists. Providers diagnose and treat heart disease, arrhythmias, blocked arteries and other cardiovascular conditions, with an emphasis on patient education and managing risk factors through healthy lifestyle changes. Cardiologists are based at Decatur Memorial Hospital, where on-site catheterization labs allow for rapid treatment of cardiac emergencies. An outpatient cardiology clinic is also located in Decatur.

“This new cardiac catheterization lab represents a significant investment in the health and future of Decatur, ensuring our community has access to advanced, lifesaving heart care close to home. By enhancing our capabilities and workflows, we are delivering exceptional door-to-balloon times that meet – and often exceed – national standards, because in a cardiac emergency, every minute matters. This is a powerful reflection of Decatur Memorial Hospital’s enduring commitment to provide excellent, compassionate care for the people of this community today and for generations to come,” said Tanya Andricks, Decatur Memorial Hospital President and CEO.
