March 4, 2026 – A traveling mobile theater honoring the Tuskegee Airmen and the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) will visit Decatur next week for a six-day public exhibition at the Macon County History Museum.

The exhibit, presented by the Commemorative Air Force’s Rise Above program, will be open Tuesday, March 10 through Sunday, March 15. Admission is free, and the experience will be available to the general public daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Housed in a climate‑controlled 53-foot mobile theater, the exhibit features two short original films that explore the history and challenges of the Tuskegee Airmen and the WASP during World War II. The theater includes expandable sides, a wheelchair‑accessible ramp, and a hydraulic lift to ensure accessibility. It accommodates about 30 visitors per showing.

According to event organizers, the theater’s 160-degree panoramic screen is designed to give audiences the sensation of being inside an aircraft cockpit, offering an immersive perspective of the pilots’ experiences.
