March 9, 2026 –Decatur Public Schools District 61 will host an open community forum on March 11 as part of Phase II of its Roadmap 2030 strategic and facility planning process.
The forums will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be held simultaneously at Eisenhower High School, 1200 S. 16th St., and MacArthur High School, 1499 W. Grand Ave.
District officials say Phase II of the Roadmap 2030 initiative focuses on developing a strategic plan that will guide the district over the next five years. The process includes gathering feedback from staff, families, residents and community stakeholders.
The strategic planning effort will focus on several key components, including a “Strategic Plan on a Page” outlining the district’s mission, vision, values and goals; a balanced scorecard identifying performance indicators tied to those goals; a SWOT analysis examining strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; and high-leverage strategies intended to support the district’s priorities.
The forum will begin with a brief presentation explaining the district’s five-step Strategic and Master Facility Planning process, the tasks involved in Phase II and the expected outcomes.
Following the presentation, participants will take part in a self-paced gallery walk, allowing attendees to provide input on the four strategic planning focus areas.
The event is open to community members, families, residents, local partners and other stakeholders interested in providing feedback on the district’s future plans.
Additional information about the planning process is available on the district’s Roadmap 2030 webpage.
