March 22, 2026– Millikin University will present a day of film music concerts March 27 at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center as part of its Artist Series.
Two performances are scheduled, including “The Music of The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit & The Rings of Power – In Concert” at 4 p.m., followed by “The Music of Hans Zimmer & Others – A Celebration of Film Music” at 8 p.m.
The first concert will feature music by Howard Shore from the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit film series, performed by a symphonic orchestra, choir and soloists.
The evening performance will highlight the work of Hans Zimmer, including selections from films such as The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar and Dune, along with tributes to composer Ennio Morricone.
Tickets for both concerts are on sale online and through the Kirkland Fine Arts Center ticket office. Discounted tickets are available for seniors, students and other eligible groups.
