April 29, 2026 – The Decatur Police Department welcomed ten new patrol officers during a swearing in ceremony Wed in the City Council Chambers.
The new patrol officers include Jeffery Wileaver, Camden Dowers, Kadan Miller, Justin Garrison, Cody Powell, Maya Houston, Braxton Barnes, Alexis Stalets, Blake Dulgar, and Brett Lybarger.
The Officers will begin their basic training at the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center (MCLETC) which will last 16 weeks. After training, they will return to DPD for a 5-month in-service field training program.
