June 11, 2026 – Boaters are being invited to light up Lake Decatur and take part in the 5th Annual Lake Decatur Lighted Boat Parade later this month.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 27 and organizers are currently seeking captains and boat owners interested in participating. There is no cost to enter the parade.
Participants will begin lining up at 8:15 p.m. in Basin 1 near the Decatur Sailboat Club before the parade gets underway at dusk. The illuminated flotilla will then tour the shorelines of Basins 2 and 3, creating a colorful display for lakefront residents and spectators.
The event is sponsored by Sherry Plain of Brinkoetter Realtors, the annual event has become a summer tradition on Lake Decatur, showcasing creatively decorated boats adorned with lights and festive displays.

The parade is expected to run from approximately 8:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to find a spot along the shoreline to enjoy the illuminated procession as dozens of decorated boats cruise the lake after sunset.
