July 8, 2026- The City of Decatur and the Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations (CONO) are inviting residents to volunteer in their neighborhoods during the inaugural Community Impact Days, scheduled for July 17-19.
The three-day initiative encourages residents to take part in projects that help improve neighborhoods and strengthen community connections. Organizers say any act of service, big or small, can make a difference.
Suggested activities include picking up litter, mowing a neighbor’s lawn, planting flowers or completing other neighborhood beautification projects.
Five organized Decatur neighborhoods are planning cleanup events during Community Impact Days. Residents looking for ways to get involved or seeking cleanup ideas are encouraged to connect with the Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations.
Participants are also encouraged to share their volunteer efforts on social media using the hashtag #DecaturImpact2026. Organizers hope the event will inspire residents to work together to make Decatur cleaner, stronger and more connected.
