July 12, 2026 – Millikin University’s Master of Science in Athletic Training Program has received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, or CAATE.
The accreditation confirms the program meets national academic and clinical standards and allows graduates to immediately qualify to sit for the Board of Certification exam for athletic trainers.
Millikin’s program combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experiences focused on the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of injuries. The university offers two pathways for students: an Early Entry option that allows students to earn a master’s degree in five years, and a Post-Baccalaureate option for students who have already completed a bachelor’s degree.
Millikin officials say the accreditation reflects the work of faculty, clinical preceptors, and students in preparing future athletic trainers for careers in sports medicine and allied health fields.
