July 29, 2026 -While blood supplies remain stable across the region, ImpactLife is encouraging donors to roll up their sleeves this summer to help ensure that doesn’t change.
The blood center says hospitals and emergency medical providers it serves currently have the blood products they need, but maintaining that supply depends on continued community support through the remainder of the summer, when donations traditionally decline.
Summer presents several challenges for blood collection, including fewer school blood drives, family vacations, holiday schedules and upcoming county and state fairs that can interrupt regular donation routines.
To encourage donations during this critical period, ImpactLife is increasing Donor Rewards by an additional $20 for whole blood and double red cell donations made at ImpactLife Donor Centers through Aug. 9. Mobile blood drive donors will also receive their choice of an electronic gift card, donor reward points or the opportunity to donate the value to a nonprofit.
Upcoming blood drives in the area include:
- Monday, Aug. 3: Mt. Zion Community Blood Drive at Antioch Christian Church, 3-6 p.m.
- Tuesday, Aug. 4: Decatur Memorial Hospital, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Sunday, Aug. 9: Holy Family Parish in Decatur, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Tuesday, Aug. 11: Macon County Health Department, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
