August 4, 2026 – Cyclists of all skill levels are invited to hit the road this fall while supporting conservation efforts during the 18th Annual Prairie Pedal.
The fundraising bicycle ride, hosted by the Macon County Conservation Foundation, will take place Sunday, Sept. 27, beginning and ending at Rock Springs Conservation Area.
Participants can choose from 20-, 40-, or 62-mile routes along scenic country roads. Proceeds from the event will support the preservation of natural areas and wildlife throughout Macon County.
Early bird registration is $35 per rider through Aug. 31. Registration increases to $40 beginning Sept. 1 and remains open through the day of the event.
Registration includes a participant giveaway, stocked rest stops, support vehicles and a post-ride lunch from Dasenbrats Food Truck featuring Heinkle’s jumbo hot dogs, with a vegetarian option available upon request.
Riders participating in the 40- and 62-mile routes may begin between 6:30 and 8 a.m., while the 20-mile ride starts between 8 and 10 a.m. All rides must be completed by 1 p.m.
