August 12, 2026 – State Senator Sally Turner and State Representative Regan Deering are teaming up for a Classroom Care Drive to collect essential supplies for local teachers and students as the new school year gets underway.
Through Sept. 30, residents can donate tissues, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, disinfecting wipes and paper towels. Donations will be distributed to help classrooms stay stocked with everyday supplies throughout the school year.
Deering said the drive is intended to help families and ease some of the financial burden associated with back-to-school expenses.
Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday at Senator Sally Turner’s district office at 120 South McLean Street in Lincoln, or Representative Regan Deering’s district office at 419 East Ash Avenue in Decatur.
The Lincoln office is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the Decatur office is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
