August 17, 2026 – The 2027 Candidate’s Guide is now available for download on the Macon County website, providing information and required forms for candidates planning to run in the 2027 Consolidated Election.
Candidates may begin circulating nominating petitions on August 25, 2026. Links to all required forms are included in the guide.
Candidates for school board will file their nominating petitions with the Macon County Clerk’s Office in Room 104 of the Macon County Office Building. Filing for the 2027 Consolidated Election begins at 8 a.m. Monday, November 16, 2026, and ends at 5 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2026.
The County Clerk’s Office advises candidates to obtain legal counsel regarding qualifications for office, properly completing petition forms, the qualifications of petition signers and circulators, and other legal requirements.
The Clerk’s Office will not notarize candidate forms and cannot provide legal advice or instructions on how to complete the forms or determine qualifications for office.
