September 2, 2026 – The Macon County Conservation District will celebrate the completion of Phase I development at Woodbine Farm with a grand opening Friday, September 18th.
The event will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Woodbine Farm, located at 7206 Sefton Road in Dalton City.
Phase I improvements include a new paved parking lot, sidewalk, pavilion, picnic tables and a trail system that is nearing completion. The trail is not yet open to the public, but the Conservation District says it will provide an update when it is ready for use. The pavilion will be available for rental following the grand opening.
During the event, visitors will be able to walk through the property’s historic barn, and, weather permitting, tour the 1862 farmhouse.
The Conservation District says Woodbine Farm will eventually serve as a gateway to the expanded Fort Daniel Conservation Area, connecting the area’s natural and cultural resources while providing opportunities for conservation, education and recreation.
