September 8, 2026 – The City of Decatur has hired Michele Anderson as its new Director of Finance and City Treasurer.
Anderson is a Macon County resident and joins the city after serving as Chief Financial Officer of Clarkson Grain Company in Cerro Gordo, where she oversaw financial operations and provided financial leadership for strategic planning and long-term growth.
She has nearly 20 years of experience in finance and accounting. Before joining Clarkson Grain, Anderson spent more than 18 years with ADM, holding leadership positions in internal audit, accounting, financial planning and analysis, and controllership.
Anderson holds a Master of Business Administration from Baker University and a bachelor’s degree in business with concentrations in accounting and finance from Eastern Illinois University.
City Manager Melissa Hon said Anderson’s experience will provide financial leadership and support the city’s long-term financial planning.
Anderson began her new position Tuesday, September 8.
