September 17, 2026 – Lindsey Life Adult Day Center in Decatur has been honored with the Governor’s Engaging Aging Award for its work serving older adults.
The annual award recognizes 13 organizations for their efforts to improve the lives of older adults. Lindsey Life Adult Day Centers in both Decatur and Champaign received the recognition.
The Decatur center provides daytime care, social engagement, enriching activities and nursing services for adults and their families.
Mike Berkes, director of program development for Lindsey Life Services in Decatur, says the award will help the organization reach more older adults and families with structured, supportive services designed to help people stay active and well.
The Decatur location, at 1685 South Franklin Street Road, is Lindsey Life’s second location. The organization says plans are underway to expand services to additional communities across Central Illinois.
