Macon County Health Department offers final clinic ahead of October 15 school health deadline

October 8, 2026 – Families who still need to complete school physicals, immunizations or lead testing have a final upcoming opportunity at the Macon County Health Department.

Illinois requires proof of physical exams and immunizations for students entering Pre-K, kindergarten, sixth grade, ninth grade or who are new to a school district.

Children age seven and younger must also have a lead screening included with their physical.The deadline for submitting required documentation to schools is October 15th.

The Macon County Health Department will offer a clinic October 13th at its location at 1221 East Condit Street in Decatur.

Physicals will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Immunizations and lead testing will be offered from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m.
