November 3, 2026 – The community is invited to gather in Decatur next week for a special holiday tree lighting honoring military service members who lost their lives serving the country.
The Fallen Heroes Tree of Honor ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, November 12th, at 11 a.m. at the Decatur Civic Center, located at One Gary K. Anderson Plaza.
The ceremony is part of a statewide effort involving the Illinois National Guard, Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs and America’s Gold Star Families to honor fallen service members and recognize the families who carry on their legacies.
The event offers the community an opportunity to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and show support for Gold Star families during the holiday season.
