June 27, 2023 – The Beautify Decatur Coalition is looking for homes with great flowers, detailed landscapes, weed-free yards and a general ‘wow’ factor for this year’s Keep Decatur Bee-utiful contest.
The deadline is quickly approaching for Decatur residents to enter photos of their home, which will recognize those who go the extra mile toward beautification efforts. Friday is the deadline for homeowners to submit photos of their homes.
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place homes. First-place winner will receive a $500 Lowe’s gift card and a wheelbarrow full of gardening tools. A $500 Connie’s Country Greenhouse gift card will go to the second-place winner, and third-place will receive a $250 Cedar Lake Gardens & Gifts gift card.
Jill Davis, chair of Beautify Decatur, said the Coalition wanted to recognize and reward Decatur residents whose homes are well maintained, litter and weed-free.
“We want to reward the WOW factor,” Davis said. “It’s important for all to work to make Decatur a clean, beautiful place to live, work and play.”
The Coalition’s mission is to increase the curb appeal of Decatur and create a clean, beautiful public presence.
