July 6, 2023 – The Illinois State Fair announced yesterday that Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members The Doobie Brothers will perform at the Grandstand on Saturday, August 12.
“It is not often we get the opportunity to have a band that has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame play at the Illinois State Fair,” Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark said in a press release. “The Doobie Brothers transcend generations making this a show for all fairgoers.”
For over fifty years, The Doobie Brothers have delivered guitar-driven rock and roll to audiences worldwide and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020. The band has sold more than 48 million albums, won four Grammy Awards and continues to tour with new material—including a stop at the Illinois State Fair.
In all, the Doobies have tallied up numerous top 10 singles including “What a Fool Believes” and “Minute by Minute,” as well as over a dozen top 40 hits like “Long Train Runnin,” “China Grove” and “The Doctor.”
