July 6, 2023 – The Decatur Civic Center will host the 34th annual Seniorama on Thursday, August 10 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Area seniors and their families can stop by anytime during the free, open house-style event to connect with various organizations providing resources throughout the community. Organizers welcome thousands of seniors each year to learn more about topics ranging from assisted living to exercise programs and financial planning all in one place.
“The best thing about it is it’s all under one roof,” said Sarah Butts, the Civic Center’s Marketing and Events Manager. “We have everything that you need, so you can get all of the information, collect it all, take it home with you and sort it out.”
In addition to booths from hearing aid representatives, both local hospitals, healthy living advocates, blood type testing organizations and more, Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Directors will host free bingo with a cash prize. Although the event is geared toward seniors, Butts said the entire family is welcome to stop by and enjoy resources, play a round of bingo, or enjoy complimentary coffee and donuts.
“It’s geared toward seniors but we stress that it’s not just for seniors—it’s for the entire family,” Butts said. “It’s everything that our community here and a few surrounding communities has to offer.”
Seniorama is sponsored by DynaGraphics, Inc., WCIS, JTnet and Neuhoff Media. For more information, click HERE.
