July 9, 2023 – The Decatur Kiwanis Clubs are installing Little Free Libraries around Decatur in an effort to encourage children to read.
Little Free Libraries have been popping up in front of private homes and organizations around the community and now Decatur Kiwanis Clubs are working to install them in local businesses and clinics to give more children access.
The newest Little Library opened Friday morning at the Pride Cleaners on W. Eldorado. The Kiwanis Clubs also installed a Little Library at Pride Cleaners on North Main.
The Decatur Kiwanis Clubs hope to install more libraries where it is common to have children, such as health clinics and transportation hubs.
