December 13, 2023 – View the Geminid Meteor Shower at Friends Creek Conservation Area on Thursday, December 14 from 9pm to 11pm. The Geminid Meteor Shower is the strongest meteor shower of the year. These meteors originate near the constellation Gemini, and are usually bright and colorful. If conditions are right, 120-160 meteors per hour may be seen at the shower’s peak.
Enjoy delicious hot chocolate and marshmallows for making toasty s’mores. Dress warm and bring a lawn chair and/or blanket if you like. This event is free and for all ages, and you must pre-register online by noon on December 13 at MaconCountyConservation.org.
