City to provide parking and trolley service for St. Patrick’s Day parade Saturday

Mar 14, 2024 | 5:35 PM

March 11, 2024 – If you are planning to attend the St. Patrick’s Day parade this weekend and then the after-party at the Hall at 520, you should take note of some parking changes.

Due to a wrestling tournament taking place at the Civic Center, parking in the Civic Center parking lot will not be available on Saturday, March 16th. Because of that, the City has agreed to allow parking at the City Parking Garage across from the Avon Theater on Saturday. The city will also be running a Trolley from 11 am to 3 pm from the City Parking Garage to the KC Hall Parking lot. Parking will be free.

The Knights of Columbus will hold the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 16th at 11 AM in downtown Decatur.

The Grand Marshall this year will be Decatur native, Father Chris Comerford of St. Patrick’s Church.

After the parade, there will be a traditional after-party at the KC Hall at 520.
