January 14, 2021 – The Macon County Health Department says that all appointments are currently all taken for the Phase 1B vaccination plan as of now.
The Health Department announced they would be taking appointments for eligible 1B residents and received an overwhelming response that clogged phone lines for hours.
The Health Department says it will notify the public when more appointments are available.
If you left a voicemail, the MCHD will be responding to them in the order in which they were received. They are asking that you do not call again if you have already left a message and not to show up without an appointment.
As more doses become available, the Macon County Health Department says the vaccination process will be taking place over the course of months.
Eligible people included in phase 1B include those who work in education, food and agriculture, manufacturing, corrections, public transit, shelters, postal services, and grocery stores. It also includes anyone 65 and older.
MCHD is asking those who HAVE an appointment to bring a copy of their insurance card, work ID badge or current paystub, and completed consent form.
If pregnant or breastfeeding, an order or note from your doctor is required.
If you have tested positive for COVID-19, received monoclonal antibody, or convalescent plasma treatment in the last 90 days, you are not eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at this time.
