For this fourth episode, Andricks is joined by Charmaine Robertson, Behavioral Health Supervisor at Crossing Healthcare and licensed therapist Rebecca Armstrong. In this interview, Andricks, Robertson, and Armstrong discuss how to have a conversation about mental health with your child, signs of distress, available tools, and getting help.
Rebecca Armstrong is a Licensed Professional Counselor for Crossing Healthcare, a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center in Decatur Illinois. With 10 years in the therapy field, Rebecca has significant experience assessing and educating on the complex bio-psycho-social factors related to patients with emotional and physical trauma histories, who require mental health support, substance use treatment, and a continuum of care. At Crossing Healthcare, Rebecca’s role is to provide counseling and therapy services to children and adolescents, as well as their families consistent with Solution Focused Brief Therapy modality of treatment. Rebecca is instrumental in providing and educating families on trauma focused clinical therapy services through use of Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, play therapy, and assessing for Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). In addition, she has experience working in the community to assist patents and their families with DCFS and the public school system.
Charmaine Robertson-Stoner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Chief Behavioral Health Officer for Crossing Healthcare. With 11 years in the field of Social Work, Charmaine has significant experience assessing and educating on the complex bio-psycho-social factors related to patients with emotional and physical trauma histories, who require mental health support, substance use treatment, and a continuum of care.
