LIZZO SAYS MONEY AND FAME DOESN'T EQUAL HAPPINESS: Lizzo took to Instagram this past weekend with an emotional video about the toll of mone and fame. While holding back tears, the rapper/singer said, “Fame only puts a magnifying glass on the s*** you already have and if that s*** is f***** up you’re just going to have more magnified f***** up s*** and situations where it doesn’t even seem valid.” She continued, “Anyone that has internal issues or have any type of self problems that they need to work out, work it out now because money, fame or success or even getting older doesn’t really fix that s***. You need to just like do it. Do the inner work because no matter where you are it’s going to haunt you like a f****** ghost. And I’m working on it too but today is just not a good day. I just want everybody to know that it’s okay to not have a good day even when it seems like you should.”
GUCCI MANE AND JEEZY CONFIRM 'VERZUZ' BATTLE: Although Jeezy was set to go up against T.I. on Thursday (November 19th), it looks like Jeezy will now go up against Gucci Mane. The news was announced on Saturday (November 14th), with Gucci writing via Instagram, “Tell buddy Get ready Thursday Nov 19 @verzuztv Trap God vs Snowcone.” Jeezy responded, “SAY lil guwop! SEE YOU ON THE 19th. DONT SEND YA CLONE!” Gucci previously “respectfully declined” battling Jeezy, so Jeezy decided to go up against T.I. Gucci and Jeezy have a beef that dates back to 2005 when Gucci was charged with the murder of rapper Pookie Loc, an associate of Jeezy’s. In early 2006, Gucci was cleared of the murder charges after prosecutors said they didn’t have enough evidence.
BENNY THE BUTCHER SHOT IN THE LEG IN HOUSTON: Benny The Butcher was reportedly shot in the leg during an attempted robbery in Houston this past weekend. According to TMZ, the rapper was outside of a local Walmart with a couple of friends on Saturday (September 14th). When they were inside their vehicle in the parking lot, a car with five men inside pulled up alongside them and demanded their chains at gunpoint. Benny apparently didn't respond fast enough, and one of the gunmen reportedly shot him in the leg before fleeing. Benny and his friends took off as well before pulling over and calling the police. Benny was taken to the hospital for treatment. No suspects have been arrested as of yet.
POP SMOKE'S ALLEGED KILLER GOES LIVE FROM JAIL: Reports say that Corey Walker, the man who is allegedly responsible for the death of Pop Smoke went live on Instagram from jail this past weekend. In one video, Walker is seen blasting songs from Rod Wave and No Cap as we does chores. He also appears to throw up a few gang signs. A few people asked why he killed Pop Smoke and he didn't respond. Pop Smoke was shot and killed at a Hollywood Hills home on February 19th. 19-year-old Walker was one of the five suspects taken into custody back in July for the murder. Walker and 18-year-old Keandre Rodgers were charged with murder occurring during the commission of a robbery and a burglary, making them both eligible for the death penalty or life in prison without parole. The two are also facing gang and gun-related allegations. Two unidentified teenagers, ages 15 and 17, have also been charged with one count of murder and robbery in juvenile court. But because of their age, their identities weren’t publicly revealed.
