September 4, 2024 – Memorial Health, in collaboration with SIU Medicine and Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois, is providing free prostate cancer screenings on Friday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Decatur.
The screenings will be held at SIU Urology, located at 302 W. Hay St. in Decatur. They will include a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test and a digital rectal exam. These screenings are recommended for men ages 50 to 69, African American men ages 40 to 60, and men with a family history of prostate cancer ages 40 to 69. No appointment is necessary, and walk-ins are welcome.
It is estimated that more than 250,000 men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year. For more information about the screenings, individuals can call 217-876-4749.
