September 29, 2024 – The Serve One Weekend event helped 8 residents gain independence with wheelchair ramps thanks to a partnership between Tabernacle Baptist Church, Decatur Block by Block and Northeast Community Fund.
The Serve One Weekend event was hosted by Tabernacle Baptist Church and Northeast Community Fund supported the weekend of service by identifying residents in need of wheelchair ramps. Block by Block also supported the project by providing 50% of funding for wheelchair ramp installations.
Local resident Stephanie Knox was a recipient of one of the ramps, making it easier to access and leave her home in her motorized wheelchair.
