October 1, 2024 – The Good Samaritan Inn is asking for the community’s help with volunteering on Saturday, October 5th, following the WSOY Community Food Drive.
The Good Samaritan Inn is one of four recipients of food that is donated during the Food Drive. The food, which is loaded onto semi-trailers on Friday, is then delivered to the agencies on Saturday morning. Good Samaritan Inn is in desperate need of volunteers for this day to help with the unloading at the Good Samaritan Inn, as well as to assist with their noon meal program.
They are looking for the following:
- Friday, October 4th – 3-5 volunteers to help unload the WSOY Community Food Drive Trailers (smaller deliveries are made throughout the day during the food drive, so assistance is needed to prepare for the trailer delivery on Saturday.)
- Saturday, October 5th – 3-4 volunteers to work from 9-11 am to prep for the noon meal
- Saturday, October 5th – 6-9 volunteers to work from 11 am-1 pm to serve the noon meal
- Saturday, October 5th – 3-5 volunteers to serve from 1 pm-3 pm
