September 30, 2024 – The Governor Oglesby Mansion will host a History Comes Alive! event featuring Pulitzer Prize finalist Lincoln author, Ed Achorn on Friday, October 4 at 5pm.
Achorn is the author of two critically acclaimed books about Abraham Lincoln, including his celebrated new book, The Lincoln Miracle: Inside the Republican Convention That Changed History. His Every Drop of Blood: The Momentous Second Inauguration of Abraham Lincoln was named one of the best books of 2020 by the Economist magazine.

There will be a very limited number of his The Lincoln Miracle: Inside the Republican Convention That Changed History available for purchase and to be autographed during this event.
Mr. Achorn will give a presentation beginning at 5pm, the mansion doors will open at 4:30.
The mansion is located at 421 West William St in Decatur. Admission is free and donations to the Mansion will be accepted.
