October 15, 2024 – Primient held a Process Operator Career Event Tuesday, highlighting career opportunities and benefits at its Decatur facility.
Candidates were able to apply on-site, ask questions about operator positions, complete the first round of interviews, learn more about Primient, tour the facility and explore the company resource groups.
The company is seeking to fill numerous process operator positions. This is due to a capital investment exceeding $700 million across the company’s operational footprint, which includes a 400 million dollar investment in the Decatur facility.
As part of the expansion, the company received an Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) tax credit which provides the company an incentive for job creation in Decatur.

Pay for a process operator typically starts around $23 with benefits, and as the employee’s skills grow, they have the potential to earn $37. Applicants are only required to have a high school degree or GED equivalent.
“It’s a challenging role, but I think there are opportunities to learn and grow in the position every day. I think that’s what makes it a really great place to work,” Creek added.
