October 22, 2024 – The Children’s Museum of Illinois has announced the grand re-opening of its newly refreshed Young at Art areas on the second floor of the museum.

Thanks to support of the Hardy Foundation, the museum has revitalized the areas to offer more engaging experiences for participants.

Enhancements include:

  • New Cabinets in the Paint Wall Area: The space now features convenient storage for art supplies.
  • Revitalized Studio Space: Families can come together to make arts and crafts in a studio area.
  • A new, one-of-a-kind mural created by local artist Mikayla Murray.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Hardy Foundation for their continued support of self-guided learning and creativity at the Children’s Museum,” said Rikki Parker, Executive Director of the Children’s Museum of Illinois. “This refresh marks an exciting new chapter for our Young at Art Spaces, and we can’t wait for families to explore and enjoy the new features.”
