The Killers has revealed that the follow up to their last album Imploding The Mirage is “pretty much done.” The band teased new music by sharing two snippets of a new song during a recent Instagram Live. During an interview with Vampire Weekend‘s Ezra Koenig, frontman Brandon Flowers said, “It’s almost done and we’re going to mix the record next week. We don’t have a drop date, but it’s pretty much done! It sort of fell into our laps.” A release date hasn't been revealed.
He continued, “Some songs are laborious sons of b*tches and then some just appear. This album just kind of appeared and we’ve never had that happen. We’ve had songs appear but never an entire record like this. We’re almost confused by it, but we’re going with it and we’re really excited about it.”
BRANDON FLOWERS TO UNDERGO SURGERY AFTER FALLING OFF OF HIS BIKE
Meanwhile, during an Instagram Live with drummer Ronnie Vannuci, Jr., Flowers revealed that he is set to undergo shoulder surgery after falling off of his bike. He explained, “I went over the handlebars on my bike and an injury from that has manifested itself. I have a torn labrum on that right shoulder so I am going under the knife in a couple of weeks to get that taken care off.”
This is just the latest procedure for Flowers, who told Vannuci that he has, “bad shoulders,” and had previously undergone decompression surgery on both shoulder joints. He added that after this upcoming surgery, he ” . . . will be in a sling for six weeks.”
