Talk about a scary situation in the air!
A United Airlines Boeing 777 jet engine burst into flames in mid-air. The Denver to Honolulu flight had just taken off when the engine exploded. Debris fell into the suburbs below, thankfully missing a house. The plane was able to make it safely back to Denver International Airport. No one was hurt on board the plane or on the ground.
The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) has ordered the grounding of older Boeing molders with the Pratt & Whitney engines for further inspections. United has grounded 24 such planes.
