TORY LANEZ PLEADS NOT GUILTY IN MEGAN THEE STALLION SHOOTING: According to TMZ, Tory Lanez has pleaded not guilty in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting. Lanez's legal team went to court on his behalf yesterday (November 18th) in Los Angeles. The rapper has been hit with one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. The D.A. has also alleged that Lanez's inflicted great bodily injury on Megan. If convicted, he faces up to 22 yers and 8 months in prison. Tory’s next hearing is scheduled for Jan. 20th.
KING VON'S FAMILY THANKS FANS FOR THEIR SUPPORT: King Von's family released a statement yesterday (November 18th) via Instagram. DR. DRE'S ESTRANGE WIFE DEMANDS IN PERSON DEPOSITION: According to TMZ, Dr. Dre's estranged wife Nicole Young is demanding an in person deposition despite COVID-19 restrictions. According to new legal docs, Young is not buying Dre's claims that it has to be done remotely due to the virus. Young has claimed that Dre has “freely entertained” multiple people at home and elsewhere and has participated in several social functions “without implementing even the slightest amount of social distancing protocol.” Young also claimed that Dre has been seen with musicians and techs without social distancing and “entering and exiting the homes of multiple women around the Los Angeles area.” The site reports that Young is pushing the matter because she believes an in person deposition is necessary to deter him from possibly being coached and her legal team says they need to be able to see how he reacts to questioning.
TRAVIS SCOTT LAUNCHES CACTUS JACK FOUNDATION AND WILL GRANT HBCU SCHOLARSHIPS TO FANS: According to Complex, Travis Scott announced the launch of his new Cactus Jack Foundation at his third annual “Travis Scott Day” yesterday (November 18th) in Houston, Texas. The organization aims to provide educational and creative resources for the next generation of youth. Its first initiative is The HBCU Waymon Webster Scholarship program, named after Scott’s grandfather, which will cover tuition fees for HBCU students this year. In addition, a multi-year partnership with the rapper’s hometown will launch in the unveiling of Cactus Jack Gardens, a community based agriculture program in different elementary schools across the city where students will learn agricultural and nutritional skills.
