August 26, 2025 – Ameren Illinois customers have an opportunity to provide public comment on the utility’s proposed natural gas rate increase at a public hearing in Springfield, and the Citizen’s Utility Board (CUB) is encouraging the public to attend. The hearing will take place tomorrow, August 27.
CUB argue that Ameren’s current $131.1 million rate-hike plan is nearly triple what the utility could possibly justify under the law. Ameren Illinois has imposed three increases on customers since 2018, raising delivery rates by $202 million, or 50 percent.
These ICC forums give customers a chance to voice their opposition to yet another Ameren rate hike:
The hearing will be held at the CMS Regional Complex at 4800 W. Wabash Ave from 7:00 – 9:30 PM on Wednesday, August 27th.
