June 22, 2026 – Illinois residents still have time to help shape the state’s housing priorities by participating in the development of the 2027 Illinois Housing Blueprint, according to the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA).

The Blueprint, a statewide housing assessment and planning initiative updated every three to five years, is designed to evaluate current housing conditions and identify strategies to expand affordable and equitable housing opportunities across Illinois.

IHDA is encouraging residents to complete an online survey, available through July 31, to share feedback on housing needs and challenges in their communities. Responses are anonymous and will help inform the agency’s analysis and recommendations.

The agency has received nearly 2,000 survey responses and is seeking additional public input to ensure the plan reflects housing needs across the state.

The Illinois Housing Blueprint was first launched in 2020 and combines public engagement with housing and demographic data to guide future housing policies and investments statewide.

More information about the Blueprint, including survey and registration details, is available at ilhousingblueprint.org.
