June 25, 2026 – Memorial Health has launched a $300,000 fundraising campaign to establish Mobile Memorial, a new mobile healthcare program that will bring preventive and essential medical services directly to underserved neighborhoods and rural communities across central Illinois.

The initiative is being introduced during the Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS, held June 25-28 at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield.

Funds raised through the tournament and community donations will be used to purchase and equip a mobile health van capable of delivering preventive screenings, vaccinations, health education, referrals and other essential services to communities with limited access to healthcare.

“Health does not start in the exam room. It starts in homes, workplaces, schools and neighborhoods,” said Memorial Health President and CEO Mandy Eaton. “If we want to improve health outcomes, we have to meet people where they are rather than waiting until they’re sick enough to need emergency care.”

According to Memorial Health, life expectancy can vary by 10 to 20 years across central Illinois, highlighting disparities in access to healthcare. Officials say the Mobile Memorial program is designed to reduce those barriers by bringing care directly to residents.

“Mobile Memorial represents a major step forward in how we care for our communities,” said Valeria Cueto, vice president of community impact and integration. “Every mile this unit travels will help us reach patients earlier, improve outcomes and ensure more individuals and families have access to care close to home.”

This marks the first time proceeds from the Memorial Health Championship, a Korn Ferry Tour event, have been dedicated to a single large-scale project. Previous tournaments have benefited the health system’s five hospital foundations.

Individuals and businesses who contribute to the Mobile Memorial campaign will receive tickets to the tournament’s Champions Club tent. Memorial Health hopes the new program will expand access to care while improving health outcomes throughout the region.
