June 30, 2026 – The Salvation Army of Decatur will host its first annual Red Kettle Car Show on Saturday, July 11, bringing together classic cars, modern vehicles and community members to support local outreach programs.

The family-friendly event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 229 W. Main Street. Vehicle registration begins at 9 a.m. with a $20 entry fee.

The first 100 registered vehicles will receive a free dash plaque. Organizers also plan to award trophies and door prizes throughout the day.

In addition to the vehicle showcase, attendees can enjoy food from the D-Dirty Burger food truck, vendor booths, a 50/50 raffle and live entertainment from DJ Jerry-Oke.

Organizers say the event is designed to provide a safe, family-friendly atmosphere. Alcohol, marijuana and weapons will not be permitted.

Attendees are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or new toys to donate. The donations will support The Salvation Army’s programs serving individuals and families in the Decatur area.

“This event is more than just a car show—it’s an opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy a great day, and make a meaningful impact,” a Salvation Army representative said. “Every registration, donation, and contribution helps us continue our work serving those in need.”

The Salvation Army says proceeds and donations from the event will help support its local services, including food assistance, emergency aid and holiday programs.
