July 7, 2026 – Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski is inviting the public to attend her third Workforce Development Summit on Thursday, July 9, at Richland Community College.

The Agriculture Workforce Summit will bring together educators, employers and community leaders to discuss how career and technical education (CTE) can help strengthen the agricultural workforce. The event builds on Budzinski’s previous workforce development summits, which focused on expanding career pathways and strengthening partnerships with workforce organizations across Illinois’ 13th Congressional District.

The summit will feature four panel discussions exploring post-high school career opportunities in agriculture. Topics include TechHub initiatives, CTE and workforce training centers, agribusiness careers, and perspectives from young farmers working in the industry.

Budzinski has advocated for expanding workforce development opportunities in Congress, including introducing legislation aimed at encouraging businesses to hire apprentices through federal tax incentives.

The Agriculture Workforce Summit will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at the National Sequestration Education Center on the Richland Community College campus, located at 3357 N. President Howard Brown Blvd. in Decatur. The event is open to the public.
