July 8, 2026 – The Illinois Conservation Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2026 Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame through July 15.

Established in 2002, the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame recognizes individuals whose leadership, service and dedication have made lasting contributions to conservation and outdoor recreation across Illinois. Honorees have included mentors who introduced new generations to hunting, fishing and other outdoor traditions, conservation leaders who helped protect wildlife habitat and natural resources, and advocates who strengthened the state’s outdoor heritage.

“The Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame celebrates people whose passion and commitment have helped shape the future of conservation in our state,” said Jenny Vaughn, executive director of the Illinois Conservation Foundation. “These individuals have inspired others, protected our natural resources, and ensured that future generations can enjoy the outdoors. We encourage everyone to help us recognize those deserving of this honor.”

Nominations must be submitted online HERE by July 15. Those selected for the 2026 class will be inducted during the Illinois Conservation Foundation’s annual Outdoor Hall of Fame Gala in spring 2027.

The Illinois Conservation Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports conservation, outdoor recreation, environmental education and natural resource stewardship throughout Illinois. The foundation also provides financial support to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources through donors and conservation partners.
