July 13, 2026 – The Salvation Army of Decatur and Walmart are teaming up this summer for a special “Christmas in July” Red Kettle campaign to support local families in need.
The event will take place Friday, July 17, at both Walmart locations in Decatur — Walmart North on Prospect Drive and Walmart East on East Maryland Avenue. Red kettles will be available outside both store entrances from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for shoppers who wish to donate.
Organizers say funds raised through the campaign will help support Salvation Army programs throughout the year, including meals, shelter assistance, utility support, and other services for individuals and families across Decatur and Macon County.
The summer campaign is part of an ongoing partnership between Walmart and The Salvation Army focused on addressing community needs and providing support to families.
