August 6, 2026 – The City of Decatur is accepting applications for its Business Facade Improvement Program, which provides financial assistance to commercial property owners and businesses making exterior improvements.
Eligible applicants can receive a 50/50 reimbursable matching grant of up to $25,000 for qualifying projects. Applications will be accepted through the end of August and will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Projects must have a minimum cost of $5,000 and may include facade renovations, storefront windows, awnings, doors, signs, exterior lighting, parking lot improvements and landscaping.
City officials say the program is designed to encourage investment in commercial properties while enhancing the appearance of businesses throughout Decatur.
