August 18, 2026 – The Salvation Army of Decatur is asking the community to help local students prepare for the new school year through its annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive this Friday, August 21.
The collection will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at both entrances of both Walmart locations in Decatur.
Needed supplies include backpacks, pencils, pens, markers, crayons, glue, scissors, erasers, notebook paper, spiral notebooks and folders.
Shoppers can purchase supplies during their Walmart trip and place them in collection bins outside the entrances. Monetary donations can also be made at Salvation Army red kettles at both locations.
