August 20, 2026 – Richland Community College is launching a new Student Ambassador program for the 2026-27 academic year, with 20 students selected to represent the college at events and assist with recruitment and community outreach efforts.
The ambassadors will also share their experiences as Richland students while developing leadership, communication and career-readiness skills through the program.
As part of the program, students receive a full-tuition scholarship for the academic year and enroll in a one-credit Student Development course focused on leadership, networking, career readiness and communication. Ambassadors also receive a $500 award upon completion of each semester.
Each student will be paired with a Richland graduate or community mentor to provide additional guidance and career exploration opportunities.
The inaugural 2026-27 ambassadors are Anna Arce, Alexis Corley, Shiann Currie, William Evans, Tyerra Gaines, Trinity Grooms, Kasey Holt, Spencer Jordan, James Keller, Amar Martin, Karissa Miller, Ana Montemar, Meg Rhoades, Allison Stewart, Kayce Stewart, Jinnefer Suansing, Sophia Thomas, Darnisha Walls, Alivia Warner and Holly Winter.
Richland says the program is a collaboration between Student Success and Institutional Advancement and is designed to give students an opportunity to develop their interests while contributing to the college community.
The ambassadors began the program this week as Richland starts the 2026-27 academic year.
