August 8, 2026 – A new option for older adults and their families is now available in Decatur as Lindsey Life Adult Day Center begins enrolling Medicaid-eligible adults age 60 and older through the Illinois Department on Aging’s Community Care Program (CCP).
Through the program, eligible older adults may receive Lindsey Life Adult Day Services at no cost, providing access to daytime care, social engagement and health support while also giving family caregivers an opportunity to work, run errands, attend appointments or simply take a much-needed break.
“We’re excited about what this opportunity means for older adults and their families in the Decatur area,” said Mike Berkes, Director of Lindsey Life Adult Day Decatur. “Being able to serve Medicaid participants through the Community Care Program is a game changer for older adults and their families across the Decatur area.”
Lindsey Life Adult Day Center offers a safe, supportive daytime environment designed to help older adults remain active, engaged and connected.
Services include:
- Meals and snacks
- Engaging and therapeutic activities
- Socialization and opportunities to connect with others
- RN health monitoring
- CNA support
- Door-to-door transportation through Operation Uplift
- Flexible half-day and full-day options
- Meaningful respite for family caregivers
The center is located at 1685 S. Franklin St. in Decatur and is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Lindsey Life is encouraging adults age 60 and older who are currently enrolled in Medicaid, or who are in the process of applying, to begin the assessment and registration process.
The organization is working with Starting Point, the local Care Coordination Unit, to help individuals complete the necessary assessment and determine eligibility for the Community Care Program.

Lindsey Life also continues to accept private-pay participants, providing families with additional options for accessing adult day services.
For families who aren’t sure whether adult day services are the right fit, Lindsey Life is also offering free Discovery Days throughout August and September. Prospective members can visit the center, meet the team and experience the program firsthand before making a decision.
