August 8, 2026 – Families and older adults interested in learning more about adult day services are invited to experience Lindsey Life Adult Day Center during Discovery Days, taking place every Tuesday and Thursday throughout August and September.
Discovery Days are designed to give prospective members, family caregivers and community partners an opportunity to experience the center firsthand. From 9 to 11 a.m., visitors can tour the facility, meet the Lindsey Life team, ask questions and learn how adult day services can help older adults stay active, engaged and connected while providing caregivers with meaningful support and respite.
Located at 1685 S. Franklin St. in Decatur, Lindsey Life Adult Day Center provides a welcoming daytime environment for older adults, with opportunities for socialization, engaging activities, meals and snacks, and support from trained caregivers and health professionals.
The Discovery Day experience is free, with up to two two-hour visits available for each prospective member. Space is limited, and families are encouraged to schedule their visits in advance.
Discovery Days also provide an opportunity for families to learn more about Lindsey Life’s Adult Day Program, which is now available to Medicaid-eligible adults age 60 and older through the Illinois Department on Aging’s Community Care Program (CCP).
Lindsey Life is working with the local Care Coordination Unit, Starting Point, to help individuals complete the necessary assessment and registration process and determine eligibility.
“We want families to come in, see what we do and experience the center for themselves,” said Mike Berkes, Director of Lindsey Life Adult Day Decatur. “Discovery Days are a great opportunity to ask questions and see how adult day services can benefit both older adults and the people who care for them.”
Discovery Days will continue every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. throughout August and September.
